A fishy family? You could say so.

My great-grandfather was a fish porter, working long hours in the busy local market, shuttling crates of fish back and forth.

Every day, he brought home seafood he'd saved from the day's trading. His daughter - my grandmother - cooked up dishes and experimented with flavours, creating recipes we're still inspired by today, as well as our signature Homemade Batter.
I still remember my grandmother showing me black-and-white photos of the first Porter's she opened with her brothers.

My parents took over the family business, adding new dishes like our famous Straight-from-the-Sea Scampi, while staying true to our family's roots in locally-sourced fish brand story

Every generation - from my great-grandfather, the fish porter, to my parents - has continued Porter's tradition and made their own mark. I've spent much of the past 10 years modernising our menu and hunting for the best local sources of ethical, sustainable and tasty food. Today, Porter's offers delectable fish and meat dishes, as well as vegan options even seafood-lovers would choose.
